Shades of Vision is a Contemporary Gospel group that's been together for close to nine years. Performing as far west as Anchorage, Alaska, as far south as Columbia, South Carolina, as far north as Boston, Massachusetts and of course regionally
.
They have been compared to Take 6, The Temptations, Boys II Men, and The Winans.
Shades of Vision has strong convictions that they will sing for God WHENEVER, WHEREVER, and HOWEVER God arranges it. They are in it for the LONG HAUL
There is a time for everything….
Beginning in 1996 in the basement of Carlos Scott, a minister hailing from Louisiana, and four other ordinary, yet gifted men from God created a melody of gospel sounds to perform for their local congregation. They were simplistic and harmonious sounds accompanied by dulcet piano chords.
Carlos and Herschel McLemore, a native of Florida, knew what they wanted to see, but reality seemed distant. Prayers were answered cultivating shades of
hope, light, and vision. Affectionately, known as "The Brothers" with original member Carlos Scott and Dijon Anderson, Atlanta Georgia continued to be crusaders for the Lord. Since then, they have relocated, marriages have formed, children born, and God has brought in and molded a new breed of men.
"Shades of Vision" formerly "The Brothers" amplified into a group of five euphonic singers with the addition of tenors Frankie Nelson from Norfolk, Virginia and Nykee Hider, a native of Washington, D.C. and baritone-hailer Eugene Phillips from Bronx, New York. These God-fearing men has graced the earth land and has been moved by the Holy Spirit to sing the praises of the Lord from New York to South Carolina and as far as California while performing in many local events, churches, festivals and national concerts.
SOV, consisting of Carlos Scott, Frankie Nelson, Nykee Hider, Eugene Phillips and Dijon Anderson, continue to produce a rich sound of harmony and flair while continuing to put the message of “the true meaning of life” into the hearts of many. This exciting group of men all comes from various backgrounds; yet, collectively, they are ministers in the musical realm pulling out all stops convincing men and women to follow Christ. Their chemistry is evident on stage and their personalities are just as inviting. They cultivated simplistic songs with a fragrant blend of gospel, hip-hop, R&B, magically going between instrumentation and acappella while influencing our day and time as “Shades of Vision.”
